One of the best weekends.

I'm back, like I promised. Well, it's been a rather hectic week once again. School is as boring as usual, except certain classes I guess. Let's not talk about school or I'll just doze off automatically.

One of my best girlfriends flew back to New York few days back and I'm starting to miss her already. We grew up together in church, 10 years of friendship and definitely still counting. Honestly speaking, the best girlfriends I have would be the ones in church. We've watched each other grow up, took care of each other as if we were real sisters. We were there for one another through thick and thin. The best moments were the sleepovers, chilling by the pool and just talk about everything we can think of. Every year, we NEVER miss Christmas service. It will be an yearly routine for the few of us to dress up and attend Christmas service together. I know I can always count on them no matter what happens. The best thing is, as a cell group, we volunteered to teach and take care of the Sunday school children. All the fun and laughter we have with the little children really brightens up our day. Besides having fun with the kids, it's also considered bonding time for the few of us.

All that has happened in these 10 years of friendship is too much for one blog entry, so I shall move on. So, I met my dear girls Sonjia and Nat for breakfast last Thursday morning before Sonjia flew back. Unfortunately, the rest of the girls weren't free but I'm sure there's a next time! Went to Hatched at Holland Village, it is a really cute restaurant where they have eggs in every dish.

Went off to school after that and rushed back home after for mummy's birthday dinner! Headed to Din Tai Fung at Jurong Point since it's mum's favourite. She never liked western food and I don't understand why. Oh well. Prepared 3 surprises for mum this year! I sneaked out of the house at 9.30pm on Wednesday night to Star Vista to collect my chocolate cake from Awfully Chocolate. Got home, woke everyone up and prepared to surprise her. I switched off the light while she was reading her magazine and she thought it was a blackout. Her reaction was really funny and I wish I'd taken a video of it. Then I placed a painting I've done for her before I left for breakfast on Thursday morning which was her 2nd surprise.

When I got home from school that day, my helper told me my mum was taking her afternoon nap. So I went to take out the Coach bag I bought for her last week, wrote a huge note saying " Happy Birthday Mum, I love you!" and pasted it on the paper bag. Placed it in front of her bed so when she woke up, it'd be the first thing she saw. That would be the 3rd surprise. The surprise was a success because mum couldn't stop smiling to herself when she came downstairs. I'm pretty sure she was feeling happy from the bottom of her heart, but she just had to say something sarcastic. She asked," Wow, did you strike the lottery?" I knew she'd say something like that, but it's alright she was the queen that day.

I also have to thank Grace for helping me choose the bags at Coach the other day. Can't remember how much I hesitated but it was a really tough decision to make. If Grace wasn't there with me I think I would have gone mad.

My weekends were spent well too! Yesterday, I went over to Youth Guidance Outreach Services at Woodlands to tutor the Primary 6 children. You wouldn't believe me if I said I tutor English, but yes I do. I'm not very good, but because they are all at foundation level so I guess I could help a little. I'm definitely not paid for it as I volunteered to do so. I have a church friend who works there and I've been going over there for the past 4 years to help out with events, counselling or whenever they needed help. Some of them there struggle a lot with family problems and school. I make an effort to befriend them because I guess what they need is a listening ear. Watching them grow to be someone better, stronger and braver comforts me so much.

Today, I managed to wake up early and attended church service with Nat. Spent my afternoon under the scorching hot sun. I swear I was dying of dehydration. Whatever it is, I enjoyed my weekends once again. Back to reality tomorrow, sigh.

Have a good week ahead everyone! Goodnight! (:

Saturdate.

After a hectic week of school, it was time to sit back and relax during the weekends. Had a really good dinner on Friday night at Poulet, one of the restaurants in VivoCity. They serve really good roasted chicken, sandwiches and soup. I definitely recommend this to everyone! The portion is just right, and the price is reasonable.

Moving on to Saturday, I spent my whole afternoon with Grace for our retail therapy and high tea session!
Starting from Ion Orchard, I finally bought my Havaianas slippers. Went around and around till we got to Paragon. I had a $100 voucher from Coach and I decided to spend it on my mum's birthday gift. It was so hard to decide on which bag I should get because my mum is rather picky. She loves bags that are really light, with zips and big enough for her to dump everything in. After much hesitation, a decision was finally made. It was a good deal as I was entitled to another 10% discount being a Gold card member of Coach.

We headed to Arteastiq after that, one of the tiny restaurants that serves high tea at Mandarin Gallery.

I've read reviews of the place online and it said that the food is good, but definitely not the service. True enough, I never thought their service would be that bad. We were seated at 3.15pm, ordered our food and beverages but our food orders only came an hour later. So hard to believe but unfortunately, it's true. The food was really delicious though.

Went all the way to Changi Airport after for dinner because I think I have nothing better to do. Had dinner at Pizza Hut. You must think I'm silly for travelling all the way from the west to the east just to have pizza hut, but don't ask me why because I don't have an answer. Maybe the pizza there is hotter and has more ingredients. Okay, I'm kidding. Had a craving for boost juice again and I swear I couldn't find it at Changi Airport even though the website says they are located there. So.... I went all the way to VivoCity just to satisfy my craving. Lastly, home sweet home.

Time for bed I guess. I gotta make full use of my weekends. Time flies and before you know it, the weekdays are here. Why can't we have 5 days of rest and 2 days of school instead? I must be in my dreams.

Goodnight!

Gone and back.

It's been a looooooong  time, really.
For the past few years, 8 years rather, I've had a blog but it is always left abandoned after a few posts. Reason? I became lazy. And yes, I have to admit I'm extremely lazy.

I deleted all my previous posts and I guess it's going to be a brand new start for this blog. Hopefully i wouldn't abandon it once more.

I have no idea what else I can write for this post. That's it, for now.

I'll be back.
